Deck Armor installs marine rubber flooring on boats at our Tampa shop. Send us your boat's make and model and we quote it for free at our estimate page or at (813) 434-0395.
Marine rubber flooring is a hand-troweled rubber deck
It is a rubber-based surface that an installer trowels onto your deck by hand. It bonds permanently to the boat.
The result is one continuous floor with no seams. It follows every curve, hatch, and corner of your deck.
How it gets installed
The install takes roughly 1 to 2 days. The floor then cures for about 3 days before the boat goes back to work.
Standard installs happen at our Tampa shop. If your boat is in the water or you have no trailer, we meet you at the boat ramp, tow the boat to the shop, and bring it back when it is done.
Because the floor is troweled in by hand, each one is built for that exact deck. A Yellowfin, a Pathfinder, and a Bennington pontoon each get their own floor.
How it compares to what you have seen
Most boaters have seen three other things on decks. Here is what each one is:
- EVA foam (SeaDek and similar): sheets of foam cut to shape and glued down. Seams show where pieces meet.
- Peel-and-stick kits: adhesive-backed pieces pressed onto the deck.
- Marine carpet: a fabric surface that holds water and needs regular drying out.
Our floor is rubber, troweled in by hand, with no panels and no sheets. Foam gets replaced every few years. Ours is installed once.
What it feels like underfoot
It grips when wet, when dry, and when fully submerged. You can walk it barefoot at the dock or fight a fish on it.
It has a light anti-fatigue cushion, so long days on your feet in Tampa Bay or out past John's Pass are easier on your legs.
Rubber warms up in the sun like any deck. A quick rinse with the hose cools it back down.
Built for Florida water
Florida boats take sun and salt every day. This floor holds up to both, whether the boat sits at a slip in Tierra Verde or runs the Gulf of Mexico.
It weighs about 1 lb per square foot, a number worth knowing if you watch your boat's load. We cover it in our weight explainer.
Colors and logos
We have a 24-color palette. Every floor is a custom blend of three or more of those colors, mixed by hand.
Our color guide shows the full range. We can also trowel a logo or lettering right into the floor. We talk through any logo with you before the install, and this post covers what is possible.
Warranty and cost
Recreational vessels get a lifetime warranty. Captain and commercial boats get 10 years.
We quote every boat individually after measuring it. No two boats are the same, so no two quotes are. The quote is free.
