What we do

Savannah. Same floor, local hands.

A Lowcountry boat lives in tide, pluff mud and shell. It runs the river at daybreak, sits on a lift through the afternoon, and comes home with grit worked into every joint. Snap-in carpet holds that grit. Foam panels lift at the edge once heat gets underneath them. Deck Armor is troweled on as one bonded rubber surface, so there is no joint to peel and nothing for the mud to work into, and it grips the same wet, dry or fully submerged. Sean runs this one mobile, so none of that costs you a trip to a shop.

Service area

Savannah, Hilton Head and the Lowcountry

This is a two state territory and the water does not care about the line. Sean Curran covers Chatham County in Georgia and Beaufort and Jasper counties in South Carolina. On the Georgia side that is Savannah, Thunderbolt, Isle of Hope, Skidaway and Tybee. Across the river it is Hilton Head, Bluffton, Daufuskie, Ridgeland and Hardeeville. The boats are bay boats and center consoles working Wassaw and Ossabaw, flats skiffs poling the May River for redfish, and sportfish clearing Calibogue and Port Royal for the Snapper Banks. Between them sit the Wilmington, the Bull, the Broad and the Savannah itself, every one of them tidal and every one of them carrying silt. Sean is a marine mechanic by trade and works mobile, so the boat never leaves your dock and she gets looked over by somebody who already knows what a hard season does to one.

We install for boat owners in Savannah, Tybee Island, Thunderbolt, Wilmington Island, Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, Beaufort, Port Royal, Ridgeland and Hardeeville.

Local water

The water Sean works

This is a two state territory and the tide does not care about the line. On the Georgia side it is the Wilmington and Bull rivers, Skidaway, Thunderbolt, Wassaw Sound and out past Tybee. Cross into South Carolina and it is Calibogue Sound, Broad Creek, the May River, Port Royal Sound and the Beaufort River. The Lowcountry runs a seven to eight foot tidal swing, which means pluff mud, oyster rake and shell on every trip, and a boat that sits on a lift between them. Grit works into every seam. A seamed floor traps it and a bonded one does not, which is the practical difference owners here notice first. Bay boats and center consoles are the bulk of it, plus flats skiffs for the creeks and a steady run of dock boats that never leave the river.

Questions

Savannah, answered.

Who runs Deck Armor in Savannah?
Sean Curran. Call or text (912) 730-1252 to set up a time.
Do I have to bring the boat anywhere?
No. Sean works mobile across the whole territory, so the install happens where she already sits: your dock, your lift, your slip or your driveway. Nothing gets trailered and nothing gets hauled.
What do you need on site to do the install?
Room to work around the boat and somewhere she can sit undisturbed through the cure. Call or text (912) 730-1252 with where she is kept and Sean will tell you straight away whether that spot works.
Which areas do you cover?
Chatham County in Georgia, and Beaufort and Jasper counties in South Carolina. That covers Savannah, Tybee, Hilton Head, Bluffton, Daufuskie, Ridgeland and Hardeeville.
Do you cross the state line for a South Carolina boat?
Yes. Beaufort and Jasper are part of this territory, so a Hilton Head or Bluffton boat is handled the same as a Savannah one.
Is the flooring the same as Tampa's?
The same system, the same certified install and the same warranty. Lifetime on recreational vessels, 10 years on captain or commercial boats.
Does the Lowcountry tide swing cause problems for the floor?
No. It is one bonded layer with no seams for pluff mud, shell or grit to work into, and it is troweled to the shape of your deck. A boat that sits on a lift between tides dries the same as it did before, there is just nothing left for the grit to get under.
Do you work on dock boats that never leave the river?
Yes. A boat that lives in the water and gets used constantly is one of the better candidates for it, because that is the use that wears carpet and foam out fastest.
